CAP PROGRAM

 

Community Assistance Program (CAP)

 

Counselling to increase social competence and address addictive behavior and trauma through a hands-on program that focuses on the strengths and interests of the participants who are directly referred from the BC Ministry of Social Development. 

 

The program provides life-skills and pre-employment workshops; art projects and exhibits; outreach support and guidance; individual and group support; daily community kitchens; community projects; volunteer opportunities; and support and opportunities to enter or re-enter further education, training, or employment opportunities to ‘not expected to work’ Income Assistance clients who have severe Mental Health and Alcohol/substance abuse diagnoses. Participants range in age from 19 to 6o years.
