"Creating a respectful atmosphere of possibility for youth by providing them with skills to achieve their goals"

JUMP IN  PROGRAM

Jump In functions as an outreach initiative of the One Stop and Provides a customized recreation, life skills and employment transitions program pilot for youth assessed to be challenged with special needs ranging from a cognitive disability through to Autism spectrum features, FAS and FASD.

Jump In is a summer program during the months of July and August to serve youth who will be referred to the service project by Social Workers assigned to the Children and Youth with Special Needs Team.

The program design addresses the need to link these youth to the community from a civic engagement and community inclusion perspective. Services are customized to provide Life skills task mastery, recreational opportunities, arts programs which promote youth and parent involvement, an appropriate employment readiness training exercise and overall engagement with the larger public.
