Career Planning Workshops Building a Solid Foundation - Registration Preferred

Choices CT - guides job seekers step by step in their approach to career exploration. The intent is to empower job seekers to explore new options, identify transferable skills, build a portfolio and plan a job search.  Youth in career transition gain new ways to consider their experiences and to relate their transferable skills, interests, and priorities to career and educational options.

Personality Dimensions - (based on True Colours), utilizes temperament theory to give an added dimension to personality exploration and understanding.  This assists with gaining insight into ourselves and others, and making the most effective use of our strengths.  It also indicates work possibilities compatible to our colours.

Kiersey Assessments – helps youth understand themselves and to enhance their relationships with others through appreciation of individual differences. Knowing your temperament helps in your search for a career or a job.

Self-Directed Search – brings an understanding of interests, skills, abilities and matches them to specific career fields and types of occupations that best suits those interests, skills & abilities.

Career Styling Inventory – helps you identify the types of activities and subjects that interest you the most.  By completing the inventory, the score will give you an Interest Code that can be matched with different occupations and careers.

Careers in the Environmental Field - the objective of this specialized 3–day workshop is to provide an in-depth look at the options that currently exist in the Environmental Field.  Youth will receive information that will assist them in making informed decisions towards their career goals.  These 3 days will focus on information gathering, research and career exploration.  The workshop will emphasize emerging opportunities and funding resources to support employers who hire new graduates in the Environmental Field.  Employers, workers and training personnel will be available to discuss and present valuable information about their specific areas of expertise.

Weekly Fast and Furious Job Search Workshops – provides support in a group setting for specific job search, resume creation, cover letters and interview skills.  Participants, ‘the Van Clan’ will approach employers supported by their group and the workshop facilitator.

Employment Maintenance Workshops – stages of employment will be explored with focus on starting a new job, job maintenance and handling difficult situation involving co-workers and employers.  Learning to shine as a new employee, surviving office politics and meeting employer expectations will be covered within this workshop.
