NYSA’s Youth Employment Centre provides a comprehensive menu of client centered, efficient and effective, employment assistance services for unemployed youth aged 15 to 30 who:
are out of school
are working less than an average of 20 hours per week
are actively seeking and available to accept full time employment, or are in receipt of a notice of imminent lay-off
are entitled to work in Canada
are willing and available to actively participate in the labor market.
NYSA supports job ready youth clients to address their employment needs through Employment Assistance Services, to those unemployed individuals who participate in employment-related activities by overcoming their barriers to employment, preparing for, obtaining and maintaining long term attachment to the labor market (i.e. find and keep a job).
Client centered services are provided on an individual basis or a group setting dependent upon individual specific needs which may include: on-site Employability services such as provision and sharing of Labor Market Information, using a self service resource centre, employment needs assessment, career planning, employment counseling, Return to Work Action Planning inclusive of development, needed revision or updating of youth client’s RTWAP as necessary, one to one job coaching, job search skills, group based short duration workshops, employment readiness assessments, career exploration, diagnostic assessment referral and off site delivered Diagnostic Assessment services as appropriate, and participant case management and follow-up.
